About Us
It all started when…
I was very young, growing up with a mom who loved to sew. Her sewing room was a magical place for a kid like me. As a child of the 60's color has always been my passion. Quilting is a perfect marriage for color and design! I began making log cabin quilts for friends' weddings and then discovered Kaffe Fassett. His fabrics are vibrant and his use of color allows for a modern interpretation of traditional quilt designs! As a quilter, I select patterns that will teach me something new and as a result, have learned lots of quilting tricks and techniques over the past 20 years. The nicest thing about quilting is that I get to share it with others as gifts for family and friends.
My second passion is helping others and teaching. I spent the majority of my career as a psychologist providing support to children on the autism spectrum and their families. Compassion and persistence were probably the two most important aspects of my work.
Join me in my new adventure at Studio on the Hill! Come sew in a magical space that will inspire you to create a piece of art using fabric as your medium. We have machines for you to use, lots of tools and a fantastic design wall. Come to an open sew and enjoy a relaxing day in the company of others or take a class and learn something new! There’s nothing better than the feeling of creating something all on your own!
